Our Mission CCWP is a grassroots racial justice organization that challenges the institutional violence imposed on women and communities of color by prisons and the criminal justice system. We are building a movement with women prisoners, family members of prisoners, and the larger communities through organizing, leadership development, and political education.

		History of CCWP California Coalition for Women Prisoners was started in 1995 in order to build support for a lawsuit filed by women prisoners at Central California Women's Facility and California Institution for Women who were fighting for decent medical care.
