State Sanctioned Lynching: the Execution of Shaka Sankofa

Shaka Sankofa (Gary Graham) was executed by the state of Texas on June 22nd despite all indications that he was innocent. From inside the death chamber Shaka denounced his execution as "part of the genocide...that we as black people have endured in America.... We will continue to be strong as a people. You can kill a revolutionary, but you cannot stop the revolution. The revolution will go on.... And know that victory is assured. We will gain our freedom and liberation in this country..."

The Fire Inside shares the outrage against this state sanctioned racist murder. Abolish the death penalty!
