Dedication

Theresa Cruz and Lisa Bustamante are two women CCWP has worked with over the past few years who are going up before the parole board this fall. Given the no-parole policy which has been in place, these hearings are filled with stress and anguish. For the emotional turmoil you are going through in these anxious months before your hearings, for the strain the parole board roller coaster also puts on your loved ones, and for your perseverance in what often seems like a hopeless situation, we dedicate this issue of The Fire Inside to all women trying for parole.
