CRUEL AND UNNECESSARY--HELEN LOHEAC PASSES JANUARY 5, 2009

CCWP would like to echo the words that Gloria Killian wrote below about Helen Loheac’s death. Gloria was in CIW with Helen for many years.
“Helen Loheac died in custody at the Madera Hospital on January 5, 2009; she was 86 years old. I would like to thank all of you who worked so hard on the campaign for her release. Helen’s continued incarceration was cruel and unusual punishment after 17 years of imprisonment for a crime in which no one was harmed, injured, or killed. It was also a huge and costly burden to the taxpayers at a time when the state has literally run out of money.”
